This used to be my tramstop. Every morning I stood here, come rain, come shine. Got wet, got sweatty, got a cold, got tired of waiting, got the next tram (as I missed the previous one). I didn’t miss a tram frequently, as I knew that it could get delayed. At some stops heaploads of tourists get in. And instead of having a 24/48 or 72 hours transportation card, they all need to buy one single ticket, at EUR 1.80 (or so). And ofcourse each and every person pays with a EUR 50 note. Which delayed the tram even more.
Now I have changed jobs, I’m very much happy that it only takes me 20ish minutes by car. No heaploads of tourists, no detours because of events taking place along or over the tracks. No more smelly people in front of you, no more getting bags and purses smacked in the face.
The day I start missing all that, is the day I will let you know.
Thisis pretty much the same location, with different light conditions.

Aha. I looked it up on google maps to get an idea in what beautiful part of the city you reside, Stewart…
Me curious, how did you get that impression?
While I do agree with you about the many disadvantages public transport can have I still believe it’s better to use it than take a car if you have a choice. I am in the lucky position that it is even faster to go to my work by train than by car, the car would take about four times as long as the train so that of course makes a decision easy. I’m curious to see how many traffic jams, road blockages and car problems it takes to bring you back to the tram… hahaha
LOL! You are not curious, your name spells C-U-R-I-O-U-S-!
In either occassion; if I would encounter road blocks, traffic jams and all, and I would finally decide on taking the bus, it would take me about 45 minutes by GVB to get there. At least. Fortyfive minuts instead of Twenty (20). Now you do the maths…
